My late wife, Dee and I did everything together, and being the Assistant General Chairman was our biggest joint undertaking. In the fall of 2015, Dee became ill and passed away on August 23, 2016.
We served in all of the offices of the Travelers Square Dance Club, Central District and the Missouri Federation of Square
"n Round Dance Clubs. We have served as the Advertising Chairman for the Show-Me DOIN's (Missouri State square dance magazine) for 18 years. Between us, we have four children and 11 grandchildren. We were selected as Missouri's Square Dancers of the year in 2007.
Dee was employed for 21 years as an Officer Records Technician and Office Manager on Ft. Leonard Wood and served as the Unit Secretary for the local American Legion Post and as Membership Chairman for several years.
After retiring from the Army, I became a Department of Defense Education Specialist and Audio Visual Program Officer at the U.S. Army Engineer School. In 2004, I served as the State Commander of The American Legion. I've served on the American Legion's National Security and Americanism Councils, and the Communications and Medial Commission. I am a member of the Missouri American Legion State Oratorical Commission and have served for several years as a judge at the annual National Oratorical Contest.
