This tour of Independence offers dancers a visit to our city's next-door neighbor, home of our 33rd president, Harry S. Truman.
The city first gained stature as the
Queen City of the Trails. The Civil War slowed the booming
trail economy and Independence settled down to await the 20th century when it would, once again, become center-stage as President Harry S Truman moved into the White House.
Our tour will introduce you to frontier Independence, the post-Civil War outlaw days, the Mormon influence and the White House years. A visit to the
Harry S. Truman Library and Presidential Museum highlights the afternoon.
$46.00 per person: This guided tour includes transportation and admission to the Truman Library.
